The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported on Monday that Nigeria's headline inflation rate fell to 15.43% in July 2026, compared with 15.91% in June. This represents a decline of 0.48 percentage points. So, are prices coming down? Not exactly. A fall in the inflation rate does not mean that the prices of food, transport, clothing and other goods have returned to their previous levels. Instead, it means that prices are increasing at a slower pace than they were previously.   August 17, 2026 Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election, securing another four-year term in office. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Adeleke as the winner after results from all 30 local government areas in the state were collated in Osogbo. Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, received 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes .
